hot springs nc visit…groovy
There is a small town hidden in the mountains of nc called hot springs. Its a real supper small town with big heart. The locals are nice. We camp here in the summer and swimm in the swimming holes the swimming is free and camping in the national forest is free and awsome I might ad! They do have a campground on the main strip that seems real nice its right on the river and when I say river I don’t mean a small trickle like stream I mean a full fledged river roaring outside your tent. Great for tubing and rafting. We visited the town library it is supper small bit its a great place to sit back and chill with a good book. The camp store sell food and they have the best donuts. They are home made and fresh dig in.. They also sell whole home made all natural pies for $2.50 !! Sweet. I must say my favorite spot we visited was a great hippie art haven called Harvest Moon. its a chill laid back shop with tie dye clothing,local art and I must say great local art, he has precious stones, nag champ a incense (the best incense in the world), there is a record room with a wide variety of albums. You can play them and shop at the same time. The owner has a few vw vans on property you know to keep the whole hippie spirit flowing. I thought it was great it says a lot to me about his character. The owner is cool and nice walking around sippin hot tea. Hmm I wonder if I can go back and get a cup and sit on the porch? Well any ways thumbs up to Harvest Moon. I look forward to trying some hiking out this spring. Ill bring my antique camera for some good pics. I’m new to the hiking world but I’m ready to get out there.
